DATE 5 – THE ONE WHO DIDN’T FANCY ME
Updated: Feb 25, 2020
My best friend suggested that I branch out a little and not just go for the same tall, bearded male specimen. I trawled through OkStupid for while, found a suitable character and sent a pleasant message. I received a reply (ironically) informing me that I was not his type. My pride was hurt so I wrote back to explain that that was perfectly okay as he wasn’t my type either. Then he asked me out on a date.
Naturally I accepted the odd invitation, thinking that there would be little pressure as neither of us fancied the other. As we clearly had nothing in common, I suggested an odd exhibition at the Barbican so that we would have something to talk about.
It turned out that we had a lot in common after all and within about 20 minutes it was clear that he was interested in more than just the art displays as he kept standing in my personal space. We went for dinner where he ended up sozzled and kept staring at me with big puppy eyes.

I was, however, correct in my initial assessment that he wasn’t my type so firmly in the friend zone he went. Back to bearded specimens.
